Your body goes through a lot of changes in the initial weeks of conceiving. It is in this process that the fertilized egg zygote makes a journey from the fallopian tubes to the uterus. The body of a pregnant woman goes through a lot of psychological and hormonal changes during this period. These symptoms are mentioned below.
Symptoms Of Being Pregnant
This is the first sign of being pregnant. It cannot be considered as a symptom as most women are happy getting a break from menstruation. For women who have irregular menstrual cycles, missed periods need not mean that she is pregnant. Thus, for women with regular menstrual cycles, a missed period in their child-bearing years is a sign of pregnancy.
Tender And Swollen Breasts
The hormonal changes occurring in the body in the initial weeks of pregnancy might cause the breasts to feel swell and sore. As the body adjusts to the hormonal changes, this discomfort decreases.
Nausea And Vomiting
Nausea occurs quite frequently in the initial weeks of pregnancy. Some women never experience it and some experience it only during the first trimester. The pregnancy hormones can make women feel nauseous and throw up.
A pregnant woman might urinate more often. As the amount of blood in the body increases, it puts extra pressure on the kidneys to work on the fluids, making your bladder fuller more frequently.
A pregnant woman might feel very tired and sleepy in her earlier days of pregnancy. This is because of the increased levels of progesterone in the body.
A pregnant woman might feel very weepy or emotional due to the flood of hormones in her body. She can also get irritable and cranky.
The hormones are again responsible for making a woman feel bloated and heavy. The feeling is similar to what a woman feels at the start of her menstrual cycle.
Sometimes, a pregnant woman may feel light spotting during the implantation phase. This is because the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus around 10 to 14 days after conceiving. However, not all women have this and only a few may face this.
Some women may experience cramps in the initial stages of pregnancy. This cramps occur in the uterus.
Hormonal changes occur in the digestive system and these sometimes cause constipation to some women.
Some women may experience an aversion to some food items suddenly during pregnancy. These are again related to hormonal changes. Some women may suddenly start hating food items they have always loved before pregnancy.
Every woman’s pregnancy journey is different. What one woman may feel, it is not necessary that the other woman may also feel the same. But, this is a beautiful stage which, if given a chance, every woman must endure at least once in her lifetime. The experience is unique and one has to experience it for them to understand.
